Nine Brumbies are in. Len is back. Wrighty is one Test away from his half ton.
The Wallabies are heading to Argentina with a strong Brumbies flavour, with nine players named in the squad for the Flight Centre Series against Los Pumas.
2025 John Eales Medallist Len Ikitau headlines the Brumbies contingent, returning to the squad after missing the recent Tests against Japan with an ankle injury.
And there’s a milestone in sight for fullback Tom Wright, who sits on the precipice of 50 Wallabies caps in Mendoza.
The Brumbies contingent also includes Allan Alaalatoa, Rob Valetini, Charlie Cale, Billy Pollard, Lachie Shaw, Ryan Lonergan and Declan Meredith.
Ikitau’s recent centre partner, Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii has also been selected for the two Test Tour in Jujuy and Mendoza, having picked up a minor hamstring strain that kept him out of the side’s 56-17 win at Queensland Country Bank Stadium last weekend. Elsewhere the 34-man squad remains consistent from the first selected by Les Kiss and the Wallabies coaches, with last weekend’s debutant and Wallaby 1000 Massimo de Lutiis in line for his first international tour. The squad, which consists of 19 forwards and 15 backs will assemble in Sydney on Saturday before departing for Buenos Aires on Sunday, with a number of players set to tour Argentina for the first time. Wallabies Head Coach Les Kiss said:
“As coaches we’ve looked to maintain consistency in selection with the bulk of this squad having laid a solid foundation over the past few weeks, through their hard work and connection on and off the field. “Touring Argentina presents another tough challenge for us as a new group, and it’s one that we know will require us to go to another level as we continue to look to build and develop our game.”
