The ACT Brumbies have confirmed flanker Luke Reimer will join the NSW Waratahs on a two-year deal from 2027.
Wallaby flanker Reimer, 25, will make the move following the 2026 season, which will mark his seventh with the Canberran side.
Reimer expressed his thanks to the Brumbies, coaches, players and fans for his time in Canberra and said he remains fully committed to the 2026 season.
“I’d like to firstly thank everyone involved with my time in Canberra, from all the staff at the Brumbies to all the fans that have continually supported both myself and the team,” Reimer said.
“I will forever be grateful for my time in this great city and will always treasure being part of the Brumbies family.
I remain fully committed and focused on giving my best for the team in 2026 and will leave no stone unturned in my preparation and performance.”
Reimer joined the Brumbies pathway program in 2019 after impressing for the Warringah Rats in Sydney’s Shute Shield. He made his Brumbies debut in the 2021 Super Rugby AU semi-final against the Western Force and quickly established himself as a dangerous breakdown threat renowned for late-game turnovers.
He made his Wallabies debut in 2024 against South Africa in the Rugby Championship at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, coming on as a substitute.
Brumbies Head Coach Stephen Larkham praised Reimer’s professionalism and impact during his time at the club.
“Luke is an outstanding player with a promising future. I’d like to wish him all the best as he takes the next step in his rugby career with the NSW Waratahs in 2027,” Larkham said.
“Anyone who knows Luke understands how committed he is to this season, and announcing this now allows him and the wider squad to fully focus on preparations for the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific campaign.
We’ve got excellent depth in our back-row moving into 2026 and beyond. We’re extremely confident about where this squad is headed.”
The Brumbies continue their preparations for Super Rugby Pacific with trial fixtures against the Western Force in Perth on January 30 and the NSW Waratahs at Marist College on February 5, before the 2026 season kicks off.
