Brumbies Rugby are delighted to announce Brumby 239 Ed Kennedy has re-signed with the club until the end of 2024, the backrower having made his debut in round one this season.

Born in Goulburn and a lifelong Brumbies fan, Kennedy joined the Brumbies at the backend of 2021 after a successful stint with the Scarlets in Wales.

The 27-year-old was a standout with Randwick in the Shute Shield prior to joining the Scarlets, and performed well in his first season in ACT colours.

Brumbies backrower, Ed Kennedy said: “I’m really happy to be staying at the Brumbies.”

“I’ve loved being home closer to family and representing the club having been in the stands as a kid is really cool, but most importantly the group we have here is great and I’m stoked to be a part of it.”

Kennedy’s re-signing will add to the Brumbies continuity for next season, with all of the club’s backrowers now retained for 2023.

Brumbies General Manager Professional Rugby and Pathways, Chris Tindall said: “We’ve been really pleased with Ed since he’s come in and it’s great for the club to have him re-commit for a least an additional two years.”

“Ed's been a great fit for the club, he’s connected well with his teammates and has contributed well to our environment.

“Being a local junior, his genuine love for the club is clear to see so I'm sure our members and community are proud to have him in Brumbies colours.”
