The best of regional rugby will be in action this Saturday at ANU North Oval for the Brumbies provincial championships, with teams from u12 to senior set to take to the field with a Brumbies Country team to be named off the back of the day’s rugby.
Representative sides from the Southern Inland Rugby Union (SIRU), Monaro and South Coast will battle it out for spots in the Country side, who will take on Brumbies City in a one-off fixture after the conclusion of the Callida Consulting John I Dent Cup season, the corresponding event in 2020 having been tremendously successful.
The co-main event on the day will be the SIRU Women’s CITY v COUNTRY clash, the Youth boys action rounding out the fixtures, which you can view here, with games kicking off at 10am.
Plus500 Brumbies Deputy CEO & GM Community Rugby Craig Leseberg said: “The Brumbies Provincial Championships is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate rugby around the region.”
“Brumbies rugby goes beyond the ACT with our region extending from the South Coast all the way through Southern NSW, so to be able to recognise and celebrate that with an event like this here in Canberra is special for the wider rugby community.
“With no premier rugby this weekend, we’re looking forward to seeing our rugby community out in support for what promises to be a great day.”
