The Brumbies Women’s team head back to Ballymore this weekend for the Buildcorp Super W Play-Off and a repeat date with Queensland, with the winners progressing to the 2019 Grand Final.

New South Wales Women await the victors of the newly instigated play-off in which the Brumbies, who ended the season in third place on the ladder, will be huge underdogs but, buoyed by a narrow 0-12 loss at the same venue a fortnight ago, will fancy their chances.

Head Coach Adam Butt has made two changes to the team which got the Brumbies into the Play-Off following a heart-stopping 17-12 defeat of RugbyWA in Western Australia last Sunday afternoon.

Wallaroos prop forward Violeta Tupuola has been ruled out of contention for selection after suffering a head knock in the victory in Perth, her place in the starting XV goes to Stefanie Stewart-Jones, the Tuggeranong Vikings frontrower starting her first Buildcorp Super W match.

In the backs, Butt has chosen Darcy Read on the right wing in place of youngster Brooke Gilroy, who is named amongst the replacements, with the only other change in the twenty-three seeing Goulburn-born Paige Penning recalled to the matchday squad for only the second time in her career.

In the two seasons of the Buildcorp Super W the Brumbies are yet to defeat Queensland but went close in their visit in Round 4 when only a brace of tries from former Brumby centre Cecilia Smith, the second coming late in the second half, ended their plucky resistance.

The Buildcorp Super W fixture between the Brumbies and Queensland Women will kick-off at 14:35 local time, 15:35 (AEDT). If you can’t make it to the match, you can watch all of the action as it unfolds, live on Fox Sports, www.kayosports.com.au and www.rugby.com.au
