The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies have made two additions to their Buildcorp Super Rugby Women's  squad for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Season ending injuries to Hannah Stewart (knee), Lily Bone (wrist) and Gabrielle Petersen (ankle) see’s the addition of Iroha Kishimoto and Madeleine Gogala to the Brumbies squad.

Kishimoto arrived in Canberra following the conclusion of her commitments with the Tokyo Phoenix team, who played games against the Western Force and NSW Waratahs as they prepared for this year Super Rugby Women’s competition. The Japanese prop has already added plenty of impact after being named in the Rd 1 team against the Waratahs last weekend.

Uni-Norths Owls product Gogala also joins the forward pack alongside Kishimoto following consistent efforts impressing Head Coach Scott Fava throughout the pre-season.

Fava is adamant the two promotions to the squad will be a great fit for the Super Rugby Women's competition and will provide even further competition for positions, which is a great positive for the side.

"It's always difficult to come into the squad as an injury replacement, but both of these individuals have great skillsets that will complement our Brumbies squad.

"Iroha has come about because we lost Hannah Stewart, we really needed a tighthead prop who can come straight into our group, someone who was established, someone who can come straight into our gameday 23 and contribute,” said Fava.

"Iroha has been a shining light within our group, she has a great personality and has been working hard on her English after joining the squad.”

"Madeleine Gogala has worked really hard, she is a multi-sport athlete who has been playing Rugby as well as AFL and basketball, and we are pleased that she has settled on Rugby."

"We can see her being a dominant player as she develops the technical skills required to be an accomplished front rower, she's a very explosive player and moves around the field very well so I'm very excited to see how she helps us in this 2024 campaign."
