The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies are excited to announce 25-year-old halfback Harrison Goddard has joined the club until the end of 2025.
A former Junior Wallabies star, Goddard’s first professional experience came in Melbourne with the Rebels. Goddard then joined the Los Angeles Giltini’s for their inaugural Major League Rugby season, the Gordon scrumhalf playing a starring role in their title-winning campaign under coach Darren Coleman.
Coleman would bring Goddard back to Australian shores after his most-valuable player winning season in 2022, Goddard playing eight times for the NSW Waratahs this year.
Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies halfback, Harrison Goddard said: “I’m really looking forward to the move to Canberra.”
“To be able to stay in Australia and continue my journey at the Brumbies is an opportunity I’m excited about and can’t wait to contribute to the club”.
Goddard’s signing will add to the club’s strength and depth at scrumhalf, with Ryan Lonergan and Klayton Thorn returning from the Brumbies 2023 squad.
Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies head coach, Stephen Larkham said: “We’re really pleased to be able to bring Harrison to the club.”
“Harrison’s been on our radar for a long time, he’s a very talented player and we believe in our program he can take his game to that next level.
“Obviously losing a player of Nic’s experience and calibre can’t be replaced but with Ryan Lonergan knocking on the door for a Wallabies cap, Klayton Thorn already growing in the program, we feel with Harrison’s addition we’ve got good depth there and we’re excited to see them develop as a group in the years to come.”
