The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies would like to thank outgoing Super Rugby Women's Head Coach Scott Fava for his service and commitment to the women's game in the ACT and Southern NSW region since taking charge in November 2022.

Fava has taken on a full-time coaching role with Southern Districts Rugby Club from 2025 on a 3-year deal as the club’s new Head Coach. The ACT Brumbies are supportive of Scott taking on this new role and are excited about where he will continue to take his coaching career.

The former 2004 ACT Brumbies Super Rugby champion and Wallaby, guided the Brumbies Super Rugby Women's to the Preliminary Finals in both seasons he was in charge.

Pushing the growth of his squad throughout his time at the club, Fava helped elevate four Brumbies into making their Wallaroos debuts in 2024 alone, leaving the club on a positive trajectory for the future.

The outgoing ACT Brumbies Super Rugby Women’s Head Coach, Scott Fava said: “it’s sad to think that my time with the Brumbies Women’s Program has come to an end.”

“There was a burning desire to at least go one more year at the Brumbies and attempt to complete all three of my objectives upon joining in late 2022; win the Super Rugby Women’s title, develop 10 Brumbies to Wallaroos and create a culture of success and connection.”

“I am proud to have achieved two of three and leave the team in a better position for future success and hopefully a Super title.”

“I wish the team every success for the 2025 Super Rugby Women’s competition, and our Wallaroos in the 2025 Rugby World Cup.”

ACT Brumbies Chief Executive, Phil Thomson said: “As an organisation, we are incredibly grateful for Scott’s tireless efforts, commitment, and passion to both the performance and stature of the program, and to the Women’s game more broadly."

"We can’t thank him enough for where he has helped take our Super Rugby Women’s program and we look forward to continuing to build on this in 2025 and beyond.”

“It has been a pleasure watching Scott’s impact on the Brumbies Women, and I wish him all the best with his recent appointment as Head Coach of Southern District in the Shute Shield competition.”
