Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies skipper Allan Alaalatoa has returned to the Wallabies set-up after injury, with an updated 36-player squad confirmed for the upcoming Tests against Argentina as part of the 2025 Flight Centre Rugby Championship.
Experienced prop Alaalatoa returns to the squad having suffered a shoulder injury in the second Test against the British & Irish Lions at the MCG. He is named alongside eight other Brumbies players, with front rowers James Slipper and Billy Pollard, second row Nick Frost, back-rowers Rob Valetini and Tom Hooper, scrum half Ryan Lonergan, centre Len Ikitau and wing Corey Toole.
The group is mostly consistent from the one that toured South Africa over the past fortnight, with a small handful of changes due to players returning from injury or replacing those who sustained injuries during the last Two Tests.
The squad will assemble in Townsville on Sunday before Tests at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on September 6 at 2:30pm AEST, and at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on September 13 at 2:00pm AEST.
Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt said: “While it’s disappointing to lose some players in what was an attritional fortnight in South Africa, we’re pleased to be able to lean into the squad depth that we’re trying to create and welcome back some familiar faces to the group.
“Argentina have been in strong form this year with wins over the British & Irish Lions and New Zealand and we know they’ll be very tough to beat in Townsville.”
