Brumbies Assistant Peter Hewat has confirmed his Australian Schools and U18’s side to take on New Zealand with five ACT boys named in the 23.
Tuggeranong Vikings enforcer Tom Hooper will partner Queanbeyan bruiser Zeph Tuinona in the second row, both having been standout performers for Australia on tour, the fledgling Wallabies going two from two so far.
In the halves, Reesjan Pasitoa and Lachie Albert continue the theme of Brumbies partnerships with the highly-rated playmaker’s renewing their partnership and Flyhalf and Scrumhalf respectively.
Tony Alofipo will likely make that a 9, 10, 12 combo off the bench, with Pasitoa having played some of his rugby in gold at inside centre, to compliment the Wests juniors game.
“We’re really looking forward to this final match, “ Hewat said.
“There is a lot of tradition and a fierce rivalry between the two sides and we will look to harness this emotion ahead of our final clash tomorrow.
“As a coaching group we’ve been really proud of the work that the team has put in so far and we have full confidence that this is the side that can get the job done."
Meanwhile, the Australian Schools Barbarians, under the tutelage of ACT coaching duo Dan Hawke and Ben McGee, won their first game of 2019, 31-23 against Samoa, St. Edmunds College star Junior Tupou bagging a brilliant brace of tries.
