The Brumbies Women have named their side for their inaugural Buildcorp Super W fixture against Queensland Women at GIO Stadium.
The game, which is being played before the Plus500 Brumbies Super Rugby game against the Sharks, will see the Brumbies Women pitted against a strong Queensland side which impressed many on their way to a win at the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens.
Anna Korovata and Peta Cox are named in the front row either side of living Brumbies Women legend Louise Burrows who starts at hooker.
New Zealand World Cup winner Charlene Gubb packs down alongside Michaela Leonard at Lock, bringing needed experience to a young Brumbies side, while Captain Shellie Milward is at blindside flanker with Georgia O’Neill and Tayla Stanford completing the backrow at number 8.
Jane Garraway and Ash Kara are the halfbacks, with Samantha Wood and Paremo Marsh outside them in the centres. Kiahan Bellchambers and Talei Wilson will provide plenty of speed on the wing.
Michelle Perry rounds out an exciting back three.Amongst the replacements, Emerena Aviga, Brittney-Lee Bedford and Merrin Starr offer front rows cover, Jess Howard is the substitute lock while Skye Churchill will cover the back row off the bench.
Remi Wilton is the reserve scrumhalf, Cecilia Smith will bring a huge impact coming on at centre and Kiara Meredith-Brown will cover wing and full back.
A loss to NSW Women in their opening fixture of Super W will leave the Queensland Women hungry for a bounce-back win so the Brumbies will have to be aware of a potential fast start from the visitors.
Results and table places will take care of themselves, the inaugural Super W season is also about promoting Women’s rugby and celebrating the amazing talent that exists already in Australia.
The Brumbies are excited for the game and proud to be part of a new era for Women’s rugby across the globe.

Between 4.50-5.20 pm you can purchase a ticket at the door for just $5.
