After their success against the Sharks, the Plus500 Brumbies are looking forward to their next match against NSW rivals, the Waratahs.

Star openside flanker David Pocock will most likely be ready to play next weekend after he underwent knee surgery at the beginning of the year.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday morning at Brumbies HQ, Brumbies Head Coach Dan McKellar was confident the Wallabies backrow would play some part in the Waratahs clash should he be passed fit.

“Yeah, [Pocock} just has to get through a fill week of training next week and he’ll be available for selection most likely. He’s done some progressions which are all controlled so a little bit more chaos in terms of what he’s doing in and around that collision area and then we’ll make a call there” said McKellar.

“To have him in the dressing shed and ready to play potentially will be a big lift and I think that’s something we spoke about when he first got the injury, whilst it was disappointing, the benefits are four weeks in on the back of some travel, we get a boost for bringing David back into the team.”

Isi Naisarani was also keen to see Pocock back on the field and finally play alongside the ball-hawking flanker.

“Yeah, [Pocock] is a world class player, it’s going to be a big boost for the team, and the forwards as well, when he returns” said Naisarani.

The Brumbies have a bye this week but the Brumbies will still be vary aware of the looming Waratahs challenge, attention in training this week switching to the NSW side’s visit to Canberra Easter Weekend.

“Yeah, everyone’s working very hard last week on Saturday, but yeah, we have been reviewing their game, starting from today but we’ll see what happens next week when we play them” Naisarani explained.

Head Coach Dan McKellar commented on the challenge of the week off this week not shaking their resolve to improve their home record.

“I wouldn’t say we’ve got momentum at the moment, we’ve spoken a lot about our home record in the recent years and we want to make sure that we change that this year and the [Waratahs] is another opportunity for that” said McKellar.

“So, just freshen up this week, make sure we’re in a really good position, take advantage of the few days and make good choices around what we’re doing those four or five days, then come in Monday ready for what will be a massive clash.”

The team and coaches will all enjoy a small break and plan to come back as keen and ready to go as ever at the beginning of next week in preparation for their clash with the Waratahs.
