The Plus500 Brumbies travel to Brisbane this weekend for the inaugural Global Rugby Tens to be held at Suncorp Stadium.The Brumbies have been drawn in a tough pool with South African heavyweights the Bulls and 2015 Super Rugby champions the Highlanders, the side will also tackle French powerhouse Toulon in a cross-pool match.
The side’s first match of the tournament will be against the Highlanders. The match will have some extra spice after the Brumbies finals defeat to the Highlanders at GIO Stadium last year,
With experienced and exciting players like Patrick Osborne and Tevita Li, the Highlanders will be an extremely tough test first up for the Brumbies to contend with. That match will kick off at 1:57 local time, 1:57 AEST.
The side’s second clash of the tournament will be their most interesting, as they front up for a tough clash with Toulon.Toulon have brought a number of World Class talents with them, including the likes of Wallabies James O’Connor and Drew Mitchell as well as Samoan wrecking machine Alesana Tuilagi.
The Brumbies will need to put in a top performance if they hope to down the perennial European champions in the pool match.
Finally, on the Saturday evening the Brumbies play their final pool match against the Bulls, who boast a number of exciting talents including fullback Warick Gelant.The Brumbies will hope to use their speed advantage against the giant Bulls pack and bring home a win to finish off Saturday’s play.Following the conclusion of Saturday’s pool matches the finals will take place on Sunday with the Grand Final taking place on Sunday Evening.
