Western Sydney muscle with a loosehead’s mindset — Tevita Alatini brings the shove.

Hailing from Western Sydney, Alatini built his early game with Penrith RSL and at Patrician Brothers College, Blacktown, where his power at scrum time and work rate around the park started turning heads. A strong, uncompromising presence in the front row, he quickly developed a reputation for loving the hard stuff.

That promise drew the attention of the Brumbies, prompting a move to Canberra to continue his development. Pulling on the colours of the Gungahlin Eagles, Alatini sharpened his craft in the John I Dent Cup while also gaining valuable experience through Australia’s U20 program — learning the demands of elite rugby against international opposition.

After years of graft in the pathway system, 2025 marked his first season as a contracted Super Rugby player — a milestone earned through persistence and physical growth.

Heading into the 2026 season, Alatini stands as a powerful young loosehead on the rise — tough, technical and ready to cement his place in the Brumbies front row.
