Shane Wilcox
Kiwi-born, Canberra-crafted and electric in space — Shane Wilcox is built to light up the backfield.
Born in New Zealand but raised in the ACT rugby system, Wilcox attended St Edmund’s College while representing the Tuggeranong Vikings locally. His strong performances at schoolboy level earned Australian Schoolboys honours, alongside Brumbies U19 selection and eventual inclusion in the Australian U20 squad — confirmation of his standing as one of the country’s most exciting young outside backs.
In 2024, he captained the Brumbies U19s to a second consecutive Super Rugby U19 Championship, leading from the front with confidence and class. That leadership and consistency were rewarded with his first senior squad contract, marking the next step in his rapid rise.
Comfortable anywhere across the back three, Wilcox combines elusive speed with soft hands and sharp instincts in broken play. Whether chiming into the line or counter-attacking from deep, he carries genuine strike power.
After pushing into the matchday environment in 2025, Wilcox continues to build toward cementing himself at Super Rugby level.
Heading into the 2026 season, Wilcox shapes as one of the Brumbies’ most exciting young weapons — quick, confident and ready to turn opportunity into impact.
