If there’s space to attack, Paua-Lee Going will find it - and if there isn’t, she’ll create it herself.

Better known simply as “P,” the exciting young outside back has quickly emerged as one of the brightest prospects in the Brumbies pathway. Born in Whangārei and proudly representing her Māori, Samoan and Scottish heritage, Going first picked up rugby at 16 after a background in netball and has wasted little time making an impression.

A winger blessed with electric footwork, blistering acceleration and a trademark fend, Paua-Lee has become known for her ability to beat defenders one-on-one and turn small opportunities into line breaks. Her attacking instincts and natural flair have made her a standout talent across both fifteens and sevens rugby.

A product of the Canberra pathway through the Tuggeranong Vikings and ViQueens, Going earned selection in the Australian Under-18s Sevens program before starring for the Brumbies in the Next Gen 7s series. Her performances consistently showcased her ability to slice through defensive lines and create opportunities from anywhere on the field, ultimately earning her a call-up to the Super W squad.

Still in the early stages of her rugby journey, Paua-Lee is regarded as one of the program’s most promising young talents, with a ceiling that continues to rise with every season. Inspired by Black Ferns legend Portia Woodman and her combination of physical and mental strength, Going brings a similar fearless mindset whenever she pulls on a jersey.

Away from rugby, she works as an Executive Assistant and enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, and dreaming about a future European summer adventure. If there’s one thing you’ll quickly learn about P, it’s that she can happily talk about anything.

Heading into the 2026 season, Going shapes as one of the Brumbies’ most exciting emerging talents; skilful, fearless and capable of producing something special whenever the ball finds her hands.
