Hard hits, fearless carries and a bright green headgear you can spot from anywhere; Lily Bone has wasted no time making her mark in rugby.
Born in Orange, New South Wales, Bone began her rugby journey with the Orange City Lionesses at 13 after transitioning from rugby league. Since then, she has rapidly developed into one of the Brumbies’ most exciting young forwards, earning a reputation for dominant tackles, powerful carries and relentless physicality around the field.
Bone plays with the same intensity every time she steps onto the field; charging into contact, stopping attackers in their tracks and bringing energy to every contest. Her rise through the ranks has been a direct reflection of her hard work and dedication to the game.
Bone earned Brumbies cap #107 when she debuted in Round One of the 2025 season against the Western Force in Perth before reaching another major milestone in 2026, making her Wallaroos debut against Fiji in Canberra as Wallaroo #229. Inspired by legendary Black Fern Portia Woodman and her strength, toughness and presence on and off the field, Bone continues to shape her game around physicality and intent.
Away from rugby, she works as a Female Development Officer with the Brumbies while studying a Bachelor of Nursing, balancing rugby alongside both work and university commitments. In her downtime, she enjoys fishing, camping and relaxing with her partner over movies and good food; though she’s also proudly capable of reciting Shrek almost word for word.
Heading into the 2026 season, Bone shapes as one of the Brumbies’ rising stars; tough, fearless and bringing impact every time she pulls on the jersey.
