Country music, karaoke and tractors off the field - crashing through tackles and scoring tries on the field; Jane Morrison does things her own way.

The Canberra product first picked up rugby at 16 after growing up playing netball and volleyball, joining Wests Juniors Rugby Union Club before progressing into the West Lioness’ system. Since then, Morrison has developed into a physical and hard-running presence whose power quickly made her one of the standout players in ACT rugby.

Her 2025 breakout season was impossible to ignore. Morrison crossed for an incredible 18 tries and claimed the prestigious Louise Ferris Medal as the ACT Premier Women’s Player of the Year, capping off a dominant campaign that showcased her strength, athleticism and nose for the try line. Following strong performances for the ACT Kestrels at the Australian Rugby Shield, she earned a senior call-up into the Brumbies squad.

Away from rugby, Morrison works in Secure Communications within the Department of Finance, balancing elite sport alongside full-time work. She also spent time playing rugby in Hong Kong with Kowloon, adding international experience to her growing rugby journey.

Inspired by former Australian netball star Sharni Layton and the energy she brought to competition, Morrison carries a similar intensity and competitiveness into her own game. When she’s not training, she enjoys country music, karaoke, Irish dancing and spending time on the farm with family; though she could just as easily spend hours talking about movies or old vines and memes.

Heading into the 2026 season, Morrison shapes as a powerful and exciting presence in the Brumbies squad; tough, energetic and always capable of finding the try line.
