Gabrielle Petersen only took up rugby in 2019 after previously playing netball, touch football and competing in athletics.
It wasn't until trials for the Super Rugby Women's squad were advertise that Petersen thought she'd try out for.
She made her ACT Brumbies debut in 2020, much to the delight of her rugby-mad family in both Samoa and New Zealand.
Petersen is yet to make her debut for the Australian Wallaroos but has been part of wider squads previously and will be looking to get back into national contention.
