Fast, fearless and impossible to pin down, Bonnie Brewer has gone from controlling the game at halfback to crashing over the advantage line at outside centre.
Raised in Batemans Bay and playing her rugby with the Batemans Bay Boars before joining Canberra Royals, Brewer has evolved into a dynamic outside back whose speed, footwork and defence make her a constant threat. Originally a No.9, her shift to the No.13 jersey has unlocked a different side of her game; explosive in space, aggressive in contact and relentless on both sides of the ball.
Away from rugby, Brewer balances the demands of elite sport with work and study, freshly employed as a Journalist at Channel Seven while completing a Bachelor of Communication and Media (Sport Media), due to finish in May 2026. Her ability to juggle training, university and work reflects the commitment required within the women’s program.
An accomplished dancer trained in Cecchetti Ballet, Brewer’s movement and agility translate naturally onto the field, with her balance, footwork and body control becoming major strengths in her shift to outside centre. Inspired by ultramarathon runner Nedd Brockmann and his mentality of pushing beyond limits for others, she brings the same drive into her rugby journey.
Brewer made her Brumbies debut in 2024 against the Reds at Suncorp Stadium, earning cap number 101, and has continued to grow in confidence and impact ever since. Her ideal rest day looks a little different to most; coffee and a morning walk with her partner and dog, sauna and compression boots with teammates at lunchtime, before finishing the day with pasta, a movie and an early night.
Heading into the 2026 season, Brewer shapes as an electric outside centre; quick-footed, hard-hitting and ready to keep turning heads in Brumbies colours.
