Australian Sevens representative and interchangeable centre/wing Ben O'Donnell was raised in Clovelly, Sydney and attended Waverley College in his youth. He represented Australia’s Sevens team on 95 occasions, earning the prestigious Shawn Mackay award for sevens Player of the Year in 2018. After travelling to Ireland to play for Connacht in the Pro14 competition for three seasons (2020-2022), O'Donnell was signed across to his new home at the Brumbies. Making his debut in 2023 against the Reds, he would unfortunately go on to rupture his ACL later that season, limiting his game time. Since recovering, he has honed his game with Brumbies Runners, Wests Lions and Hawkes Bay in the NPC, all preparing him for a 2025 Super Rugby Pacific campaign.
