City vs Country is next up in the Brumbies Representative Program, the best of the ACT and Southern NSW to take to the field to compete for places in the ACT and Southern NSW Griffins (Mens) and Kestrels (Womens).

Goulburn’s Poidevin Oval will host what should be a brilliant day of rugby in the Brumbies heartland on the 17 of the September. Brumbies City will take on their Country counterparts in the Womens fixture, while in the mens Brumbies City will be divided into North and South, with North, South and Brumbies Country playing a mini-tournament to select the Griffins side.

The Country side assembled following the recent Brumbies Provincial Championships, which saw the best of South Coast-Monaro and Southern Inland come together for their annual fixture.

Brumbies Representative Program Manager, Tony Abel said: “City vs Country is the next step in our representative program and it’s exciting to be able to take the games to Goulburn.”

“The ultimate goal of these games and the program is to give a pathway to talent in our region, not in a professional program, and after a successful Provincial Championships, it will be great to see our Country side tested against the best from the Bentspoke John I Dent Cup.

“We’re very grateful and fortunate to have so many dedicated and passionate coaches involved in the program, and it’s particularly exciting to have Lucas Theissen on board as head coach of the Kestrels and Frank Condi who will lead the Griffins.”
