Despite an improved showing from the ACT & SNSW Griffins at Viking Park, the Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies would prove too strong in the Challenge Cup final, taking home the silverware with a 50-19 win.

With strong performances from many in the Brumbies side including Declan Meredith and Jarrah McLeod, Tom Hooper also made his presence felt with a big outing after returning from Wallabies duties.

The Brumbies would score in just the second minute of the game, however the Griffins would steady soon after. Despite the Brumbies side being dominant through most of the match, the Griffins certainly made the most of each opportunity, managing both well-worked and flashy tries alike.

The highlight for Viking Park's spectators was undoubtedly a Cullin Cooper-Jones try in the opening half, resulting from a Louis Bartley-Saena backwards kick that would miraculously find a perfect bounce sitting in the in-goal for the Griffins number 9 to score.

The Brumbies however would reap the rewards of a strong outing however, piling on 50 points after showing their undeniable expertise against the best of ACT & SNSW club rugby.
