The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies will open their 2024 Buildcorp Super W season when the Canberra-based side travels north to tackle the NSW Waratahs on Allianz Stadium, Sydney on Saturday March 16.
GIO Stadium and Viking Park will feature as home venues, with three fixtures to be played across both stadiums. With two home fixtures featuring in Blockbuster Double Headers with our men's Round 5 match against Moana Pasifika on Friday March 22 and Round 7 Super Rugby clash against the NSW Waratahs on Saturday April 6 at GIO Stadium.
Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies Super W Head Coach and Wallaroos Assistant Scott Fava will look to go one better in 2024, after falling agonisingly short to the Queensland Reds in this year's Super W Semi-Finals.
“We took away a lot of positives from a successful Super W season in 2023. Witnessing plenty of progression in individuals, and as a team has me excited for next year’s campaign,” Fava said.
“I know the squad are also looking forward to our three home matches next year. We’re also quietly excited to play two double headers side-by-side with our Super Rugby team.”
General Manager of Professional Rugby and Pathways, Chris Thomson is excited in the development and progress of the ACT Brumbies Women's Program.
“Following our narrow loss to Queensland in the 2023 Super W Semi-Finals the Brumbies have focussed on continuing the growth and development of female rugby players within our high-performance system.
Thomson added, “Our Senior Women’s Academy has provided a daily training environment for a core group of players to holistically develop in preparation for the 2024 Super W season. As an organisation we are excited to see everyone’s hard work transfer to on field performances.”
The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, where they will compete for a place in the Grand Final, to be held on the last weekend in April.
