The Plus500 Brumbies are delighted to be able to announce that the University of Canberra will continue as a Major Sponsor of the club for the 2019 Super Rugby season.

The University’s commitment to the Brumbies is a further indication of the strength of the relationship between the two proud Canberra institutions, both of whom have strong community links, as well as being global ambassadors for the territory and surrounding region.

“The University of Canberra is proud to continue as a major sponsor of the Brumbies,” Professor Deep Sani, Vice-Chancellor & President, University of Canberra said of the extension to the agreement.

“With the team based on the University campus the sponsorship enhances UC’s commitment to the Brumbies and Canberra.”

The deal will see the University of Canberra logo feature prominently on the back of the Plus500 Brumbies jersey for the 2019 season.

“We are very happy to have extended our partnership with the University of Canberra continuing the good relations that exist between the organisations,” Brumbies CEO Phil Thomson commented.

“We have a superb training facility here at the University which is the envy of many other sporting teams throughout Australia, so its makes perfect sense for us to foster a positive sporting relationship with the University.

The partnership also sees us utilise interns from the University who gain first-hand experience of working in an elite sporting environment, with the convenience of the club’s headquarters being located on campus.”

The University of Canberra is ranked among the top 100 young universities in the world and consistently delivers 89 per cent graduate employment and above-average graduate starting salaries.

The Plus500 Brumbies begin their 2019 Super Rugby campaign with a home match against the Rebels at GIO Stadium on Friday 15 February 2019.

Prior to that the team will meet the Rebels in a trial match at Viking Park, Erindale, at 6.30pm on Saturday 26 January. Entry to this match is free.

A second trial match will be held against the Waratahs in Goulburn at 6.30pm on Thursday 7 February, with free entry to Brumbies and Waratahs members, and under 18’s.
