Royals Tom Staniforth is one of eight players to have international experience in this year’s ACT Under 20’s squad.

The ACT Under 20's side has been picked after more than 70 players turned out to trial at Griffith Oval on Saturday.

The 2014 squad looks like it will be one of the strongest fielded, with current Australian Under 20’s lock Tom Staniforth leading a quality pack boasting plenty of representative experience.

In all, eight players have represented Australia or Australia A at schoolboys or Under 20’s level in the past including Neori Nadruku, Montana O’Neill, Jason Tomane, Andrew Robinson, Micthell Douch, Keith Morgan, Connal McInernery and Staniforth.

Of the 70 players who trialled, 13 came from interstate and Tyler Bunting, Darcy Eason, Tyler Harris and Tyron Jones all made the cut.

All four players will play rugby in the ACT or its surrounding regions in 2014.

The squad is a proven nursery for future ACT first graders and University of Canberra Brumbies players alike, with Seth Going, Joel Penders, Staniforth (Royals), Rohan Perry and Joe Powell (Tuggeranong).
