matt nobbs

Born in Sydney Matthew grew up in Canberra having been educated at Canberra Grammar School between 1981-86.

 

He has plenty of rugby experience having first taken up the game as a junior at the Easts club at the tender age of six before going on to represent Canberra Grammar School from U12 to U15, gaining First XV honours in 1985/86 from where he was selected for the ACT Schoolboys team that were National Champions in 1986.

 

After playing for Easts first grade over 100 times, being named club captain in the process, Matthew saw further representative honours come his way as a member of the ACT U21 team, the ACT Kookaburras, ACT Griffins and ACT.

 

Outside of the Territory, Matthew played for Easts (Brisbane) and London Wasps. He coached St. Edmunds U12 in 12016 and is currently completing his Level 1 Coaching Certificate.

 

Off the pitch, Matthew spent approximately nine years with the St. George Building Society in Canberra and the St. George Bank in Brisbane being responsible for marketing and sponsorship activities in the ACT as well as providing residential lending services both in the ACT and Queensland.

 

After two years at the Heritage Building Society Matthew has been Self-Employed since 2000.

 

He is currently a Director at Teilall Pty Ltd which trades as Manuka Newsagency having previously been a Director at the Australian National Newsagents Federation and with the Act Rugby Union as a Player Representative.
