Brumbies fans have watched Scott Sio grow up in front of their eyes. Since making his debut in 2012, Sio has been a pillar of excellence in the Brumbies front-row, being part of the generation of front-rows which have redefined the craft. Heading into 2019, it could be argued that Sio is the best loosehead in the world.
Injuries plagued some parts of Sio’s 2018 season, but the 85-times capped Brumby still showed why he belongs at the top table of props in World Rugby. Sio is the tip of the Brumbies scrum spear and, though any set-piece requires all-eight players working in tandem, it’s Sio who leads the attack.
In the loose, Sio is an elite defender for his position and possesses a range of passing skills rare for a loosehead prop. The Brumbies have a genuine world-beater in Sio, and as we prepare to battle back to the top in 2019, expect him to be at the forefront of the fight.
