Laurie Fisher

  • 63 Age

Former Brumbies, Munster and Gloucester Rugby Head Coach Laurie Fisher, or Lord as he is known to the Brumbies rugby family, returns for a second season as Assistant Coach to Dan McKellar, with the remit of looking after the club’s forwards.

A popular figure in the Brumbies community, and a firm favourite with the supporters, Fisher has a huge amount of knowledge accumulated throughout a career dedicated to the game. As a player he represented ANU (latterly the Uni-Norths Owls) with pride and was a representative at the University of Queensland and for the ACT.

Indeed, Fisher won a Premiership with ANU, as a captain, in 1992 lifting the ultimate prize in local club rugby and was capped by Australian Universities against France in 1990. A renowned specialist of the set-piece, Fisher loves a good scrum, his experience throughout many decades of playing, coaching, watching and managing the sport he adores, means he is an excellent and valuable addition to the Brumbies coaching panel.
