Rugby Australia has confirmed the Wallaroos 2025 Test schedule this morning, which will see the representative side take on USA at GIO Stadium in May as part of a double header alongside the Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies Super Rugby Pacific clash with the Queensland Reds.

The match in Canberra will be the Wallaroos first match in the Capital since 2008 and will serve as the sides third Test match, featuring in the Pacific Four Series between the Wallaroos, USA, Black Ferns and Canada.

The Wallaroos schedule includes a whopping seven Tests for the coming year, with five of the fixtures being held on Australian turf preparing them for the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in England. Taking on Samoa, USA and England in the Pool matches, the Wallaroos will be eager to push their limits in their seven Tests before heading overseas.

With rugby fans of the capital a key beneficiary of the scheduling, an international match as a curtain raiser for Brumbies v Reds becomes yet another addition to an already loaded rugby calendar in 2025.

Wallaroos head coach Jo Yapp said: "The 2025 season is going to be a really exciting year for the Wallaroos.

"The opportunity to play seven Test matches leading into the 2025 Rugby World Cup will provide a fantastic platform for us to continue to grow as a squad following our WXV 2 title win in Cape Town.

"Playing a Test match in Fiji before the Pacific Four series allows us to build into that tournament and we welcome further Test matches against New Zealand and Wales throughout July before we travel to England."

Rugby Australia’s General Manager of Women’s High Performance Jaime Fernandez said: "2024 has been a significant year for the Wallaroos.

"We played the highest number of Tests in a calendar year, toured Ireland and Wales and won WXV 2 in South Africa, bringing home the first ever piece of silverware in the program’s history.

"We are excited by the opportunities 2025 presents. Five of the seven Tests will be played in Australia, providing a platform to showcase the women’s game to home crowds and readying the team for the largest women’s Rugby World Cup in the sports history.
