Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies back rower Rob Valetini will play his 50th Test for Australia when the Wallabies take on Wales at Principality Stadium on Sunday afternoon local time.
Back-to-back John Eales Medallist Valetini has remarkably only missed two Tests since 2020. He moves to the number eight jersey, with Harry Wilson ruled out, and will link with Fraser McReight and Seru Uru in the back row.
Tighthead prop Allan Alaalatoa has been named to captain the side in Cardiff and will combine with Angus Bell and Matt Faessler in the front row.
Brumby Nick Frost is named at lock and partners France-based Will Skelton in the second row, with the latter selected for his first Test of 2024.
Noah Lolesio, who kicked 13 points in last weekend's famous 42-37 win against England at Twickenham, is named at flyhalf alongside the experienced Nic White.
Tom Wright completes the ACT Brumbies in the starting lineup after his try-scoring performance last weekend, with Max Jorgensen named to start on the left wing in place of the injured Dylan Pietsch and Andrew Kellaway completing the back three.
Prop James Slipper is set to earn his 142nd cap from the bench.
Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt said: “Last week’s Test was fast-paced and physical and we’ve brought in some freshness for what’s going to be another bruising encounter in Cardiff.”
“As a group we’ve worked hard this week, knowing that there will be plenty of pressure on us this weekend.”
