This week is Club Rugby Round in the Super Rugby Pacific competition, a chance to shine a spotlight on the grassroots of the game.

To mark the occasion, Uni-Norths Owls, the reigning BentSpoke John I Dent Cup champions, will take on visiting Gordon Rugby from the Sydney Shute Shield in a curtain-raiser to the ACT Brumbies vs Queensland Reds fixture at GIO Stadium on Saturday night.

In a nod to their roots, all Brumbies players will wear their club socks in the Super Rugby game, and Uni-Norths will be well represented. Six members of the gameday 23 have strong connections to the Owls; Rhys van Nek, Billy Pollard, Toby Macpherson, Cadeyrn Neville, Charlie Cale and Ollie Sapsford.

The Owls and Gordon will celebrate club rugby with three grades battling it out at the University of Canberra grounds before heading up the road to GIO for the First Grade clash, kicking off at 5:05 PM
