Pollard and Hooper named; Eight Brumbies announced for second Springboks clash

The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies Captain Allan Alaalatoa will lead the Wallabies in their second Test Match of The Rugby Championship against South Africa this Saturday, August 17, kicking off at 7:45PM AEST.

Alaalatoa, along with 2024 Brett Robinson Award Winner Rob Valetini and backs Noah Lolesio, Len Ikitau and Tom Wright have been named to start for a second week running.

James Slipper remains on the bench, with Tom Hooper and Billy Pollard called in for the first time in the 2024 Rugby Championship .

Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt said: “There’s some continuity and freshness in this team after a very physical test last weekend.”

“The players have rolled up their sleeves and worked hard again this week. The reality is that we need to be more combative and accurate this Saturday.”
