There are only four days to go until what is set to be an action-packed Anzac Weekend Round fixture on and off the field on Saturday against the Hurricanes at GIO Stadium (kick-off 7.35pm).

The Brumbies are currently flying high in the Smartech Super Rugby Pacific table in third place, following the bonus point, 24-0 win away at Moana Pasifika on Saturday.

Fittingly, our Anzac Weekend Round match will see sides from the capitals of Australia and New Zealand taking each other on, celebrating the powerful bond of our two countries through the sport of rugby.

As well as world-class rugby action on the field, there is a whole host of activities around the ground before kick-off, in a fitting tribute to those who have served and continue to serve for our countries.

This includes the Australian Defence Force (ADF) rugby finals (men’s and women’s), Royal Australian Air Force Roulette Flyovers, Red Berets (including a parachute jump with Brumby Jack) and ceremonial activity with Australia’s Federation Guard, with a seven-person catafalque party and ode of remembrance.

General Manager of Commercial & Business Operations at the Brumbies, Gavin Hunt, was grateful to the ADF for contributing so much to the matchday experience for our Anzac Weekend Round.

“We’re thrilled with the support from the Australian Defence Force for assisting us in bringing our Anzac Weekend Round fixture with the Hurricanes to life, with some incredible pre-game activity such as the RAAF Roulettes Flyover, Red Berets Parachute Jump and Australia’s Federation Guard,” Hunt said.

“With the hosting of the Australian Defence Force rugby finals before the main event, it’s shaping up to be a bumper fixture and a fitting celebration of those who have and continue to serve for Australia and New Zealand.”

The fixture is also part of an incredible, two-for-one deal for Canberra footy fans, with the opportunity to also attend the Raiders v Dolphins game at GIO Stadium on Sunday from just $20 for both matches.

Additionally, tickets to the Stables for Saturday’s fixture and the rest of the season have been reduced to $10. The Stables is our new supporters’ group for students and young people in Canberra to enjoy the game of rugby, with a view to creating a more vibrant atmosphere and high-energy experience, complete with its own DJ booth in bay 64 of the stadium.

With gates opening early at 3.15pm, the ADF rugby finals will take place before the main event, with both women’s (3.30pm kick-off) and men’s (5.10pm kick-off) fixtures. Entry is free for current or veteran military personnel, plus up to five additional guests, before 4.15pm and for current or veteran military personnel for the remainder of the day with the display of a valid military identification card.

Also before the match in the precinct, the ADF will provide other activities for fans to enjoy and sink their teeth into, including a drone display with virtual reality experience, kids army style kid's obstacle course, Beaver Fit fitness rig, with fitness challenges such as pull ups with former Army PTIs and an Air Force stall with Kids giveaways and build your own foam glider.
