The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies Women have selected their side to run out against the Fijian Drua at 5:05pm to open Saturday's double header before the men take on the Western Force at 7:35pm.

Head coach Andy Friend has named a 25-woman squad full of firepower, in what will be the side's last trial game before a Round 1 clash against the Force in Perth.

Shaping up for her first hit out in Australia of the year, prop Iroha Kishimoto has been named in the starting side after winning the National Women's Rugby Football Championship in Japan with the Tokyo Phoenix just three weeks ago.

Following last week's narrow defeat to the NSW Waratahs in Campbelltown, Friend remains optimistic as the rapid improvements within his roster continue.

"I was really pleased with our last match, we looked like a much more cohesive side both with and without the ball," said Friend.

"We're getting to the pointy end now so we need to continue narrowing down what our Round 1 side might look like. If girls aren't in the side this weekend it doesn't mean that they won't be involved in Round 1, but those that do play this weekend have a really good opportunity to push their claim for selection in Perth.

"We don't know a lot about the Drua, but then again we haven't looked too far ahead at any of our opposition yet, we just know they are historically a very good football side so it will be a tough contest for us. But a great opportunity to play a double header with the men taking on the Western Force after our fixture."
