ACT & Southern NSW Rugby Union host the Week 2 of the ACT Rugby Finals at Viking Park, Wanniassa. The second weekend of final's action sees Elimination Finals across multiple grades to advance to their respective Grand Finals next Saturday, August 31.

Tickets are available at each entry gate at a price of $10 for ages 16 and above, and free for Juniors (15 and under).

Match 1: Premier Colts (Gungahlin Eagles v Canberra Royals)

Gungahlin Eagles have advanced to next week's Premier Colts Grand Final against the Tuggeranong Vikings after taking down the Canberra Royals 55-29.

The first points of the match came against the run of play. The Royals turning over the ball deep in attack for winger Israel Taiatini to run 80 metres to dot down.

Gungahlin were on the attack again from the restart, adding to the scoreboard with a Sam McLachlan penalty to shoot out to a 10-0 lead.

Though the Royals would respond with a try to hooker Tom Hedley midway through the first half, closing the deficit to 10-7.

Both sides would trade penalty goals before the Eagles swung the match back in their favour. Scrum half Lachy Smith sniping on the edge of the ruck to increase their lead to 18-10.

The Eagles had an opportunity to add to the scoreboard after the siren with a set piece off the scrum. Though it was Royal’s fly-half William Johnston who read the Eagles attack, pouncing on an intercept for a converted try. The Royals heading to the halftime break with a spring a step, despite being down 18-17.

It was a tough outing for Canberra Royals in the second half with the Eagles dominating possession and territory for much of the first half.

Doubles to Samuel Pack and Lachy Smith for the Eagles securing their place in next week's dance with Tuggeranong at Viking Park on Saturday.

Match 3: Spence Cup (Uni-Norths Owls v Tuggeranong Vikings)

Tuggeranong Vikings have taken down the Uni-Norths Owls 50-21 to claim a Spend Cup Grand Final appearance against the Gungahlin Eagles.

The Vikings were off to a dashing start when prop Lington Ieli squeezed over for a 7-0 lead.

Minutes later they were in again with a break down the left edge. Scrum half Seamus Smith supporting on the inside to increase their lead.

The Vikings would continue to dominate possession and territory, scoring through Joel Leiper and Isaac Thompson. Thompson converting his own try for a 26-0 half time lead.

Tuggeranong proving too strong in the second half with tries to Kerry McInerney, Ryan Hoare and Lachlan Davis.
