The ACT & Southern NSW Rugby Union has decided to reduce its component of the Player Registration Fee this season by 25% to provide some relief to the local rugby community.
The levies support our ability to administer and service the game effectively across all elements of the community game; Including competition management, coach & match official education, safety programs and resources, player development and pathway opportunities and game development activities.
Plus500 Brumbies Deputy CEO & General Manager of Community Rugby Craig Leseberg said: "The discount is based upon a reduction in competition length in many regions this season, but more importantly an awareness that families and individuals are experiencing considerable financial pressure during this unprecedented time."
"I would also like to acknowledge and applaud the decision from the ACT Government to waive ground hire fees for the 2020 rugby season. This has removed a substantial expense and further eased the pressure on our local clubs."
Those players who have already paid in full will be refunded their discounted amount. The registration portal will be briefly suspended for 24 hours from 12.00pm Wednesday 24 June until 12.00pm Thursday 25 June (for full paying registrations) while the adjustments are made and refunds are issued.
The national registration system is categorised to include various fee components including insurance, national, association (i.e. ACTJRU, SIRU) and club elements. Where possible we are encouraging both the Associations & Clubs to consider a reduction in their component to further ease the pressure on families and individuals this season.
