Earlier kick-off times, daytime rugby and traditional derbies headline the Plus500 Brumbies 2020 Super Rugby fixture list that was released by the competition’s governing body, SANZAAR, this week.

In a move that will surely appeal to families, matches on Friday and Saturday evenings have been brought forward by half-an-hour with kick-off times now taking place at 7:15pm, rather than the usual 7:45pm, with six of the Brumbies eight home games played at that time.

There are three matches on a Friday evening, three on Saturday and two on Sunday in 2020, and Brumbies fans can look forward to seeing rugby talent from home and abroad as visiting teams arrive in Canberra from South Africa, Argentina, New Zealand and Japan for a veritable feast of international rugby.

The traditional derby matches of the Reds, Rebels and the always eagerly anticipated clash with old foes the Waratahs, are supplemented by the visit from across the Tasman of Kiwi outfits the Highlanders and the Hurricanes.

Brumbies supporters can look forward to an eclectic run of fixtures to close the regular season with the 2019 Super Rugby finalists, the Jaguares from Argentina, arriving in April, followed by the Stormers from South Africa and the Sunwolves from Japan in May.

Barring any participation in finals football, the Sunwolves will play their final ever Super Rugby match at GIO Stadium in Canberra on Friday 29 May, an event not to be missed.

The 2019 season saw the Brumbies crowned as Australian Conference Champions for the 4th time and reach the semi-finals for the tenth time in their history.

Sixty-eight tries were scored, spread amongst 24 different try scorers across the season, the most ever. Thirty-seven players played Super Rugby of which four (Tom Banks, Joe Powell, Tevita Kuridrani and James Slipper) were involved in all eighteen matches.

Dan McKellar had his side playing some exhilarating rugby, combining the power and physicality of a world-class pack, with the free-running, hugely exciting backline that shredded opposition defences, and there promises to be more of the same in the forthcoming season.

The best way to make sure that you see every minute of home action in the 2020 Super Rugby competition is to purchase a season membership. There’s a membership to suit everyone at the Brumbies with prices ranging from $120 for admission to every home match.

Even better, a family packages consisting of two adults and two children for the entire season start at only $240! More information around our pricing and packaging will be released shortly.

Memberships go on sale on Monday 16 September. For membership enquiries contact membership@brumbies.com.au or 1300 228 278.
