The Plus500 Brumbies 2020 Super Rugby season will begin with a match against the Reds at GIO Stadium on Friday 31 January, one of a trio of home fixtures to kickstart the new campaign.

Back-to-back matches with Conference opponents, the Rebels follow the Reds to the National Capital in Round 2, are followed by the visit of the Highlanders, the New Zealanders sure to provide a stirring test as the Brumbies aim to build momentum early.

In a move that is bound to appeal to families and fans of all ages, matches played in Australia on Friday and Saturday nights will kick-off 30-minutes earlier than in recent seasons (previously 7.45pm AEST).

The always anticipated home fixture with the Waratahs is scheduled for Sunday 15 March at the family friendly time of 4.05pm, one of two games in that time period during the 2020 season, the other being the visit of the Jaguares in early April.

Outside of the massive Australian Conference games with the Waratahs, Rebels, Reds and Sunwolves, the Brumbies welcome the Jaguares from Argentina, the Hurricanes and Highlanders from New Zealand and the Stormers from South Africa on an exciting home fixture list.

Following on from a successful 2019, in which Dan McKellar’s team reached the Semi-Finals of the competition, scoring 68 tries spread amongst 24 different try scorers across the season, the most ever, and racking up 430 points in winning the Australian Conference, the Brumbies will be out to get the new season off to a winning start.

The first road trip of the season will see the club head overseas to play the Chiefs in New Zealand before heading to Tokyo to tackle the Sunwolves in their last season in the Super Rugby competition.

This season’s overseas tour will take in two stops in South Africa as the Brumbies face the Sharks in Durban and the Bulls in Pretoria on successive weekends in the Republic, coming home a week later to take on the Stormers.

The campaign concludes with matches against the Rebels and Waratahs in Melbourne and Sydney respectively, before the Sunwolves bring down the curtain on their Super Rugby adventure, their final ever game being against the Brumbies at GIO Stadium on Friday 29 May.
