Brumbies Women Head Coach Tony Doherty has made four changes to the starting XV for the final match of the Buildcorp Super W season at GIO Stadium on Saturday, a match that is a precursor to the Plus500 Brumbies versus Reds Super Rugby match.
There are two changes in the forward pack, and two amongst the backs, from the side that claimed a maiden win in the competition at AAMI Park in Melbourne last Friday evening when they downed the home-town Rebels 37-8.
Brittney-Lee Bedford makes a start at prop in place of Violeta Tupuola, who is one of five players unavailable for selection for the clash.
Bedford will pack down alongside veteran Louise Burrows and Peta Cox in a strong looking front-row that will need to be on its game to secure good set-piece ball.
Silver Ferns international Charlene Gubb is recalled into the second row where she will partner captain Shellie Milward whilst the backrow sees Jess Howard, Georgia O’Neill and Tayla Stanford continue.
There’s a change at scrumhalf with Jane Garraway coming in for the unavailable Remi Wilton, whilst Ash Kara is back at flyhalf in place of Kiara Meredith-Brown who takes her place amongst the replacements.
That’s the only change in what is a settled back-line with wingers Darcy Read and Talei Wilson, both on the try-scorers list in the win over the Rebels retaining their positions outside of the centre pairing of Michelle Perry and Paremo Marsh whilst Samantha Wood is at fullback.
There are a further two changes on the replacements bench with Merrin Starr back into the squad and Kiahan Bellchambers providing cover in the backs, in for Isabella Atkinson-Smith.
The Brumbies Women versus Western Australia match kicks off at 5pm with $5 entry from gates opening until 5.30pm.
