The Plus500 Brumbies are pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Tindall as the club’s new General Manager Professional Rugby and Pathways.

Tindall arrives in Canberra with a very strong history in professional rugby, having spent eight years as the Chiefs Super Rugby High Performance Manager, winning the Super Rugby title with the club in 2012 and 2013, and building a platform for sustained success for the club which featured in the finals every year from 2012, and from 2000 to 2010 with the New Zealand Rugby Union.

“We are extremely pleased to have Chris join us in this very important role,” Plus500 Brumbies CEO Michael Thomson said of the new appointment.

“We had some outstanding applicants but Chris’ approach, attention to detail and experience stood out. We are excited by what he brings not only to the professional side of the business but also in our pathways.“Chris has held leadership positions with two of rugby’s most successful organisations in the All Blacks and the Chiefs and brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. I am certain that Chris will become an integral part of the Brumbies as we strive to claim our third Super Rugby title.”

The former High-Performance Manager of the Hamilton-based Super Rugby franchise led the recruitment process, development and succession management of players, coaches and team management personnel, high performance development and related business growth at the Chiefs.

Prior to his time with the Chiefs, Tindall played an integral part in the All Blacks set-up for a decade, managing relationships between players, advisors and Super Rugby coaches and contracting players for Super Rugby teams and the All Blacks in New Zealand.

“It is exciting to join the Brumbies,” Tindall commented.

“The positive direction and progression that the Brumbies have made on and off the field is impressive. The aim is to continue to build on, and contribute to, further Brumbies success towards winning the Super Rugby Championship.

“The Brumbies tradition, and region as a rugby heartland, are real positives and those community connections and support help contribute to the Brumbies success on and off the field.

“Rugby is people based and the Brumbies have shown me that they have good people involved. I am certainly looking forward to working together with Phil, Dan, Laurie, Peter, the players and the whole staff and supporting partners at the club, whilst my family are also looking forward to moving and living in Canberra.”

Tindall will replace former General Manager Professional Rugby and Pathways Damien Hill, who resigned his position last month to pursue further opportunities elsewhere.

“The Brumbies would like to thank Damien for his invaluable contribution to the club and for everything he has done in his time with us,” Michael Thomson said.

The Brumbies begin their Super Rugby season on Friday 15 February 2019 with the Rebels the visitors to GIO Stadium in Canberra.
