Four UC Vikings players have been included in a strong 23-man Australian Barbarians squad to tackle the Plus500 Brumbies at Viking Park, Erindale this weekend.Andrew Robinson, Eli Sinoti, Dean Oakman-Hunt and Edan Campbell-O’Brien will line up for the representative team against the Brumbies who will be taking part in their first competitive hit-out ahead of the forthcoming Super Rugby campaign.
Australian Barbarians Head Coach Michael Magriplis has picked a team full of running talent and flair which includes exciting talent.Former Queensland Reds outside back Junior Laloifi is the star of the squad, the winger was the leading tryscorer in the 2015 Buildcorp National Rugby Championship and will be out to prove he can cut it with the Super Rugby competition’s best.
2016 Ken Catchpole Medallist and Sydney Rays flanker Will Miller headlines the Barbarians forward pack alongside Western Sydney Rams prop David Lolohea who recently played with the Wallaby XV against the French Barbarians.In an interesting twist, Rams lock Tom Alexander will likely face off against his brother, 130-cap Brumby and former Wallaby Ben Alexander.The Plus500 Brumbies versus Australian Barbarians match will take place at Viking Park, Erindale this Saturday 28 January with kick-off at 17:30. Admission is free to all Brumbies members on presentation of their current membership card or receipt of purchase of membership. Admission prices for the general public are $10 adults, $5 concessions.
