The next generation of Plus500 Brumbies talent will continue their pre-season preparation this weekend when they travel to Albury to meet their counterparts from the Rebels in a trial match. It will be the first meaningful run-out of the season for the promising group of youngsters who are moving into top gear ahead of their Super-20 season which commences with a match against the Rebels on 5 March at Viking Park.
“The squad is excited for our first trial against a strong Rebels U20’s team,” Pathways Head Coach Russell Ingram commented.“These trials over the next three weeks will be an opportunity for players to force their selection into the final 23 game day team.“We are keen to put into practice some of the detail we have been working on over the last few months and are looking forward to the challenge provided by the Rebels in Albury this weekend.
“The squad has been training well, but there is nothing like a competitive match to get the team into shape and we are sure that the fixture against the Rebels, as well as the matches in the following weeks, will provide ideal preparation for the Super-20 competition.
”Following the Rebels fixture, the Brumbies schedule sees them facing up against the Waratahs Gen Blue team in Bowral (11 February) and the Uni-Norths Owls at University of Canberra (18 February) before a clash with Randwick Colts on 25 February rounding out the pre-season campaign.
