The Brumbies Women’s Super W team will play their second trial match this weekend when Head Coach Adam Butt and his squad heads to Albury to tackle the Rebels at Greenfield Park with kick-off at 1.30pm.

The match, hosted by the Albury Steamers Rugby Club, will be the last trial fixture for the Brumbies Women before the second season of the Super W competition kicks-off in a fortnight’s time.

Butt has named a 33-player squad for the trip to Victoria to face a team that the Brumbies defeated in both matches they played in 2018. After swamping the Rebels 70-5 in a pre-season trial, scoring twelve tries in the process, the Brumbies claimed an inaugural Super W win against their Rebels’ rivals.

Darcy Read, Remi Wilton, Tayla Stanford, Shellie Milward, Louise Burrows and Talei Wilson also crossed for tries at AAMI Park in late March last year as the Brumbies recorded a 37-8 success to keep alive their Super W finals prospects.

Having been defeated by a strong New South Wales outfit in their opening trial match last week in Bowral, the Brumbies Women will be hoping for better luck in Albury.Following the trial match, a game of Foxtel Touch will be played, and both teams will attend the post-match BBQ kindly hosted by the Albury Steamers Rugby Union Club.

The Steamers are huge supporters of the Brumbies and have hosted numerous Pathway Representative trials and Super Rugby trials.

The Plus500 Brumbies acknowledge and are thankful for the continued support of the club.
